To Pilotedge fliers question

Recommended Posts

How do you fly all those addon propellers with outdated GPS nav data?

Is there anything updatable yet?

Thanks

Not sure exactly what you're referring to.

If you're talking about the sim navigation aids, then:

If you're talking about RXP or GTN, then you just have to be smart about the procedures you accept. You obviously can't shoot an RNAV approach if it's not in your database.

And how exactly do you get smart about the procedures, particularly if your GPS  nav data is outdated? I mean do you still use GPS at all when flying Pilotedge?

Thanks

All the time!

I fly mainly the Xtreme Prototypes Learjet on Pilotedge using GTN750 and have never had a problem in 3 years.

Sometimes you get X9 Star and you only got X8 but it just doesn’t matter.

Dont forget Pilotedge offers a free two week trial - so come along and try it out yourself.

I also wanted to ask which GPS was more useful for flying more current routes and procedures: RXP or F1's

Thanks.

Usually it is very small changes.. Here's one showing changes over a 20 year period.. (WOW! Still have those flips for FS!)
BAE.EAU3 vs BAE.EAU9
- The military frequency for ATIS has changed
- From BAE to EAU, basically the same direction. Added waypoints BEERI (w/ a hold), ROBBY & WILDD.
- The hold at EAU is now a right turn
- The non-turbo jet expectation at TWINZ was lowered to 7000
- The waypoints TWINZ thru ZASKY have moved slightly (~1.3 nm NW)
- The original waypoint, ANDDE, was replaced by LOOON. Very close, but again, ~ 1.3 nm NW
- Of course the distances have changed from HERMI thru ZASKY
- Text instructions have changed. No longer valid for "other" airports.

Negating the holds.. The only thing really changed is the TWINZ altitude expectation.
If you were "hand" flying on PilotEdge, maybe even in real life, the controller would have very little idea that you were using the EAU3 vs. EAU9 unless you held in the wrong direction @EAU or reported ANDDE.

One wouldn't do that though..... Right?
