January 28, 20188 yr As the Title says... Just got the RXP 530/430 for use in P3D V4; before undocking, it's running at about 60fps; after undocking, it drops to about 30 if on the same monitor, and 24 when I move them to another monitor... Any ideas? The previous version (in FSX, at least) didn't seem to have any framerate increase, even on my old computer. thanks H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
January 29, 20188 yr Hi, Is there any chance you could try GNS V2 in FSX to compare if this might be a P3D4 issue only on your system?

Hi Jean-Luc, Sorry, busy week and just saw this. Sure thing. I don't have it installed on my new PC, but will install the Steam version and try it out there. H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
February 3, 20188 yr Author Hi again - Ok... yes, unfortunately, it looks like undocking in FSX:Steam also causes a very significant framerate drop. Loaded: FSX Steam new install Default 172 RXP 530 only Running docked, I'm getting 75fps or so. When I undock the 530 on the same screen, it immediately drops to... hold on to your seat.... 6 fps. that's "six". It then jump up to about 40. When I drag to my 2nd monitor, it drop a little more, and jumps between about 35 and 40. H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
February 3, 20188 yr There is something definitely wrong there with the FPS. Please note the 'ideal' comparison would have been with the same FSX you're used to use the legacy GNS, as FSX-SE has some differences still, but they shouldn't be that much significant for the 'undocked' windows as far as I can tell. Nevertheless, I'll try looking at what could be causing this but I suspect something highly system/video card dependant otherwise I'd guess we'd get more reports of this on the forum?!!?
February 3, 20188 yr Author Maybe - I'd be happy to send system info if that helps. Let me know what you'd like me to do. H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
February 3, 20188 yr We're very very busy working right now on the update compatible with the new Garmin GTN Trainer v6.41.1 but once released, I'll further this investigation.
February 4, 20188 yr Hi, something you may also try comparing: what about the undocked GNS V2 window with the GNS running/not running? 1) Detach the window, note the FPS. 2) Kill the power/avionics bus (configure the GNS V2 settings accordingly), note the FPS. 3) and 4) same as 1) and 2) but note the FPS while turning the knobs continuously with the mouse wheel (usually faster than with repeated clicks). This series of tests is to try determining which is influencing the most the FPS on your system: the mere fact the graphics display in a detached window (power off case), or the constantly updating graphics (power on case, screen refreshes using certain graphics algorithms, knobs case refreshes using other graphics algorithms).
March 20, 20197 yr Hi all together! I am not sure but maybe I have a problem on the same issue! I am using P3Dv4 with 2 pcs 27" monitors and the third monitor is the display of the emuteq GNS530 hardware. The hardware setup all looks fine and performs good BUT as soon as I UNDOCK the RXP GNS530 the screen beginns to flash. THis really starts already when UNDOCKING the RXP gauge and it does not change even when I move the UNDOCKED gauge to the other monitors. I have several Carenado aircraft with the capability to use the emuteq hardware with RXP GNS530 gauge, but all aircraft behave in the same way. It is enough to UNDOCK and screen flashin starts. The flashing gets better when docking the RXP530 gauge again, BUT does NOT stop. The monitor shows the panel without flashing again ONLY when EXITING and RESTARTING P3Dv4. Any ideas would be great and nice! regards Georg
March 22, 20197 yr Hi, Is this happening with any other gauge in a popup window or just the GNS V2? Do you use any form of 'post processing' tool? (Reshade etc...) Because there is nothing special about the GNS V2 gauge rendering: it is like any other gauge 'built' with the SDK for that matter, and the simulator is the sole responsible for taking the gauge graphics and bringing them to screen. March 25, 20197 yr Hi Jean-Luc, THX for answering. I have been able to solve the Problem. I had to activate Vsync in P3D. Now nearly everything works fine, except the GNS/GTN annunciators I do not see them anyway. But this is a different story and I do have to investigate on this problem, especially how to integrate them to 3D panels. regards Georg
