[SOLVED] Only Two Views after Take Off

Featured Replies

Hi All,

This is a weird one!  Been flying quite happily recently (apart from SPADNext issues, but that's another story!) and suddenly after take off, my cycle of views using the hat of my Saitek yoke, restricts views to just two; cockpit and side view.  I can change view in P3D options, but again, I end up with just two views!?  If I change from the VC to another view, it will give me what I request, but to get back to the VC, I have to manually select it again.  Very odd behaviour!  Any ideas folks?

No responses, however, having re-read my post it's not clear, so I hope this clarifies....

I erred in so far as I wrote "cycle of views using the hat of my Saitek yoke".  Of course, the hat is used for panning.  I have a button on the yoke that cycles through what I believe to be the four standard default views of VC, right wing, tower and spot whilst on the ground.  As soon as I get into the air, I click the button to change view and lo and behold, only two choices are available (whereas the four default views were always available in the air).  If I then use the P3D VIEW menu to choose a different view, I lose the one I had (VC) and as an example, only have tower and spot views.  I can change back to the VC via the P3D VIEW menu, but again, can only cycle through two choices.  Not a 'game ender' I know, but a little frustrating.

Not an intentional plug for a product, but if you have some disposable income for flightsim addons, do yourself a favour and get Chaseplane. Views are a huge part of the flightsim experience and Chaseplane will expand the possibilities here hugely.

The default camera system is clunky and unintuative

I'm guessing you have the view switch assigned both via SPADNext and via the normal P3D control assignments? If so, then P3D gets 2 view change commands every time that you press the view switch button: 1 from the standard control assignment and 1 from SPADNext. It therefore jumps 2 views at a time and you only see 2 view options out of the 4 available. If you remove the view switch from the SPADNext profile then you should get all 4 available again.

Nice suggestion!  Just a quick peek - looks cool!  Although I've yet to 'splash the cash' in TrackIR, is it compatible?

Thanks!

Masped, you were absolutely spot on (no pun intended)!  It was indeed assigned to SPADNext although  not intentionally.  I guess having uninstalled it and reinstalled it a couple of times, it introduced and I accepted a profile that did so.  Anyhow; simply fixed.  Many thanks!
