39$ down the drain?

Recommended Posts

Since my purchase, 4 days ago, I have passed endless hours to try to make CP work in my computer and I'm coming to the conclusion that it is better to give up to avoid unnecessary frustration.

I'm also in contact with @support but not much of help on that side either.

Exp 4.0.187 I'm able to start the UI from the desktop icon, where I changed few things in the Preferences, but when I start FSX(SP2) I see the icon in the taskbar for a split second and then it disappears for good.

Few infos about my rig:

W10 64bit 16G I7 8700 GTX1060

No AV Window Difender completely shut down

Chaseplane allowed through my Firewall and also, because the event viewer, that I will post below, I allowed the Chaseplane_bridge through the firewall.

In the Sim I'm able to see from the drop-down Views the Chaseplane cameras but I'm unable to set them up.

I really would like that someone would sort my problem up.

Intriguing! I can't help you but Kevin is brilliant.  I'm sure he'll sort you out promptly. Although you're no doubt a little frustrated, the title of your thread is somewhat abrupt. Its also totally incorrect.  And I am just a user of the product.

My system is almost the same as your and the only issues i've had so far have been caused by issues on my PC, not Chaseplane itself.

If you've read any user reviews, you'll also know it is Definitely not $39 down the drain as you say.

I think I've probably purchased and used EVERY SINGLE camera addon released for FS9, FSX, P3D and X-Plane 10 & 11, both freeware and payware.  Please believe me when I say that Chaseplane is FAR above and beyond ANY of these.  It not only works, just as it says on the can, its also brilliantly intuitive to use.  That, coming from me, is high praise indeed.  Having had a brain tumour and several brain ops, my cognitive function can often be impaired.  This can make it extremely hard learning to use new software.  This has not been so with Chaseplane.

Please my friend, have a little patience and it'll be sorted.

EDIT:  Also, try running the stable version.

Hi Dougal,

thanks for your reply but I would love to use the product like most around this forum, that's why I bought it, but you bear with me that in 4 days, where I can't get it to work, it feels like a waste of money.

If I have offended anyone with the title of this post , please accept my apologies, my intention was just to express my feeling about the whole operation.

I don't have CP as I love my EZDOCK but googling the numbers you posted shows that this might be a .net error.
I see post ranging from minecraft users to some database specific applications stuff throwing same errors.

Get Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=30135 and let me know if it helped anything.

And make sure you remove everything CP related and that includes hidden folders if anything is stored there before you reinstall it.

I have to agree with you,  I was frustrated that you can only create presets from virt cockpit or outside, point is you cannot use views supplied by fsx se outside, non vert cockpit. Today, Chaseplane went through a auto update and now I can't load it.  Wonder why my normal fsx se is having so many problems using Chasepalne and it seems everyone else is just loving it.? I really want to just enjoy flying, not spending hours trying to get FSFX products to work. I have had to reload fsx se many times since trying Chaseplane. Would just like answers because I thin CP is a good product.

@Paul GR Thanks for stepping in but I believe that my Microsoft.NET is just fine, I have so many add-ons running that, at this time, something else would have been faulty already.

I completely uninstalled CS so many times that I became a Pro 😋

The first time I was able to run the program, for whatever reason it was 500 mb VAS ...since then it is  around 120 mb
