Issue with sound

Featured Replies

I have recently encountered an issue with the sound 737NGX (both the 777 and 747 works fine). I cannot hear the sound of the engine when looking straight ahead, only the other sounds (fans, button click, etc.) However, if I pan to the left or right, up or down down, I can hear the sound of the engines.

Previously I've had some issues with no sound at all, usually fixed by restarting the sim, but I can´t seem to fix this issue. I use headphones and through the realtek sound options I've set it to quadrophonic, which as I stated previously works fine in all other aircraft I have (PMDG and others). I tried playing around with the settings and by setting it to stereo, the engine sound is as it should be. But now all other sounds from the aircraft are gone.
I also checked the options page in the FMC, and sound settings appears normal (only one option for sound comes up).

I'm running P3D v4.1 (I do believe this issue started after upgrading to 4.1 (clean install)), and Win 10.

Do anyone have any idea whats going on here?

Sounds like an issue where you have your Windows settings set up for a 5.1/surround sound setup, and you only have two speakers (or generally not whatever setup you've set it to). Make sure you have the proper default sound device selected in your Windows settings, and in the sim. Keep in mind that when you install a new sim (even if it's only a new version of said sim), you need to set it up as it's a new sim.
