Aircraft position with FS

Featured Replies

From what point on the aircraft does FS take as it's position, and can it be changed at all?My problem is that my PMDG 747 has it's position taken from the tail. I figured this out by loading the sim and then loading AFCAD. The red cross indicating my position is some 200ft from where the nose of the aircraft actually is.Am I able, or are PMDG able, to change the location to say the nose wheel? Or is it something that FS does on it's own and can't be changed? Thanks for any help.

These relative positions are coordinates in the aircraft.cfg file that correspond to the visual model. Altering these points can cause several unwanted things to happen... such as the wheels not touching the ground or the point at which the aircraft pivots on rotation (takeoff) to not correspond to the main wheels.
