FPS and RAM usagge

Featured Replies

I installed the Maddog X and i'm getting realy low FPS. I saw some topic on this yesterday, so i tried some solutions mentioned there, uninstalled / reinstalled without true lights / true glass. It helped just a bit, but still a slideshow. My P3D settings are modest, i'm not using DL. So, i checked what happens with my system when using this plane, and i discovered it uses almost all of my RAM - i have only 8GB, and it uses well over 7GB. That's almost double vs FSL A320 which was my heaviest addon regarding RAM usagge(with FSL, arround 5 - 5.5 GB is used). I belive this is the reason for a low FPS i'm getting, it's unflyable for me. I find this figure realy too high, compared to PMDG and FSL. Any suggestions / temporary solutions until i upgrade RAM?

P.S. Ok, i just checked this:

Minimum system requirements: I5 CPU or equivalent, 8Gb RAM, 4Gb GPU, Windows 7 64bit

So, my GPU is only 2GB Vram, maybe it's time to upgrade...

Hi,

definitely you should. P3Dv4 already requires a minimum of 2GB of VRAM to actually run and recommends 8GB+.

If you can then don't save on your GPU, P3D looks just amazing with a modern Card =)

I know, but i wanted to wait a bit more and build a new system. I can still use all other addons, but this is my all time favorite, the 2008 version was my first addon ever
