What is the Fuel Sched?

Featured Replies

Hi guys!

In the perf page there's an entry box for fuel/sched. what is the sched part for? some put A, others put N. What is that for? What is A? What is N? Im looking at videos and manuals but no one explains what is it for

N = normal, A = alternate.

I believe the alternate fuel schedule burns a portion of the wing tanks before the center tank, reducing the chance of ice formation due to cold-soaked fuel. Don't quote me on that though.

Ahh i see. So i should use A in icing conditions and N everywhere else, is that correct?

Im trying to find documentation about it but im yet to see anything

Cameron is spot on.

Here is a great piece on this.

As far as which to use?  Since our aircraft has the heaters and new duct work, I use Normal and I'm careful to keep an eye on the fuel temps.  If they get below zero I start thinking about using the heaters - just don't let the fuel temps get to -6 or lower. I might be wrong, but I believe one of our resident Maddog drivers at Delta said they never use "A".

Best wishes.
