ISG Simavionics profiles?

Recommended Posts

Hello!

So I recently turned my head towards smaller jets and seems like Carenado has the biggest choice of those.

There are two problems though:

a) we all know how bad their Proline/G1000/Universal is

b) I am totally opposed to fitting everything with GTN750.

So I noticed a thing called ISG Simavionics. On paper it looks great, but it's very, very hard to access any reliable information since their site and forum seem to be offline most of the time.

I would have some questions to my fellow simmers then:

Does ISG1 gauge pack work in P3D v4?

And my second question is - if anyone is actively using it, could they maybe point the way towards some sort of  panel.cfg database or maybe they would be willing to share their own? I am mostly looking for smaller jets but I am down for anything you might have.

Thanks in advance.

It's a 32-bit gauge set, originally for either FS2002 or FS9, that worked in FSX, but fell out of favor with many because it couldn't be incorporated effectively into most 3rd party add-on VCs.  It was good in its day, which is long past now.

I severely doubt it works in P3Dv4 given the epoch of its creation.

Regards

ISGs update to P3Dv4 came out Dec 1.

I used to use it but like any avionics or gauge package out there.  Doesn't fit most flight decks with all the 3D panels.  Very few and far between in it's uses but for the most part was a decent update to aircraft a long time ago.

Thanks for the information.

Would you say there is any more modern replacement around or it's GTN750 or /A from now on? :)

Yeah Ernie updated it for v4.  Still works like a charm.  I have mostly payware aircraft so don't use it much anymore except for the TDS 787.   If you buy FSPanel with it then putting panels and gauges in an aircraft is a snap.

It works on freeware VCs nicely but have never tried it on something like a Carenado.

Never had a problem with their forums.  Can probably find the best answer there.  Just did a quick search and a few Carenado posts come up.  Ernie is pretty responsive when not super busy (he's the gauges and FMC guy for Qualitywings)

I hadn't seen that...interesting.

In the 2D panel days those gauges were great.  But now, with the 3D modelling, and especially the modern lighting techniques that go along with the VC models, it's pretty tough to roll your own.

I still use Ernie's FSBuild flight planner from back in those days.

Yes, in 2D was an awesome update. I made a few custom C-130 AMP back then from Alphasim that I loved. But no, you aren't going to pull that off anymore.  I just wish developers would leave a flat panel option! Especially all these GA airplanes out now that you can throw the G500/G600 from Flight1 in now.  Oh well.
