March 1, 20188 yr A new issue just started for me today...I can't think of any changes I've made to my sim; Trying to fly the AS Twin Otter with the G530 and the simulator hangs for long periods of time. During the hangs, the G530 will shut down and restart. I've only had the Aircraft about 5 days...it was working without issues. Event Viewer is indicating an application fault (G530sim.exe) with the fault module as krnlsim.dll I was using FSUIPC 5.122. I tried to update to 5.124 as well as revert back to 5.103...all with the same results. I've tried reloading RXP from the F1 Wrapper and that didn't make any difference either. Any thoughts on what I might try? Thanks in advance! Edited March 1, 20188 yr by RXP

Also, can you please post the details of the 'application fault' event? Additional event data is most useful to locate the point of failure.
March 1, 20188 yr Author Thanks for your reply! This morning, I wanted to see if the fault occurred after engaging the autopilot...my previous flights that may have been the "trigger" as the problem does not appear at sim start-up, but soon after departure. This morning, the weather engine was off as I wanted to rule out Active Sky. Same fault pattern this morning: Event Viewer: - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> <Provider Name="Application Error" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>100</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2018-03-01T14:09:49.034550300Z" /> <EventRecordID>5837</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>rem</Computer> <Security /> </System> - <EventData> <Data>G530SIM.exe</Data> <Data>0.0.0.0</Data> <Data>4bff0a69</Data> <Data>KRNLSIM.dll</Data> <Data>0.0.0.0</Data> <Data>4bff0a8e</Data> <Data>c0000005</Data> <Data>00037807</Data> <Data>920</Data> <Data>01d3b1659dc49c28</Data> <Data>C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GNS Trainer\GNS\G530SIM.exe</Data> <Data>C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GNS Trainer\GNS\KRNLSIM.dll</Data> <Data>71de136e-ea0b-4f41-81ae-873edf537a71</Data> <Data /> <Data /> </EventData> </Event> RXPGNS2.gau 18/03/01 13:59:54.777 08472 - ] # rxpGNS2.dll version 2.3.10.0 18/03/01 13:59:54.777 08472 INFO ] RXPGNS2_menu.dll 18/02/24 04:07:10.153 02740 - ] # rxpGNS2_menu.dll version 2.0.7.0 18/02/24 04:07:10.164 02740 INFO ] edit panel: G:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aerosoft_DHC6_300_WHEEL\panel\panel.cfg RXPGNSsim.dll 18/03/01 13:59:57.677 08472 - ] # rxpGnsSim64.dll version 2.3.10.0 18/03/01 13:59:57.676 08472 INFO ] 18/03/01 14:00:02.088 00740 INFO ] 18/03/01 14:00:12.338 05796 INFO ] 18/03/01 14:09:53.131 09128 INFO ]
March 1, 20188 yr Can you please refer to p18 of the User's Manual to set the LogTrainer setting for the device, and see if the rxpGnsSim.dll.log file contains additional information? Also, when failing, are the two consecutive values in the event data always the same? <Data>c0000005</Data> <Data>00037807</Data> Edited March 1, 20188 yr by RXP
March 2, 20188 yr Author RESOLVED! Sorry for the wild goose chase!!! As I did some additional troubleshooting, I was seeing other Application Faults with different (non-GPS) aircraft. Ultimately, issue was tracked down to Process Lasso (something was corrupting my saved hardware profile) and I could see the CPU affinities were changing. I tried to save a new profile to no avail. I've un-installed Process Lasso and all is well in the world of P3D v4.2 again! Again...very sorry for the time you took to address my hardware issue. Best regards, Rob
March 2, 20188 yr Thank you for your astute research! I was about to ask you what CPU do you have, but all is fine for you now!
