May 28, 200620 yr the white "heading" line or whatever it is in the HSI that shows the direction you're going seems a few degrees off like 5 degrees maybe. tried all sorts of things to figure out what's causing it to be off but i can't figure it out and it NEVER lines up verticaly to zero degrees. is there a fix or maybe something i'm not doing right? thanks, william
May 29, 200620 yr Hmmm, not to surprising. These things are slightly effected by resolution and other varibles. I would not sweat it to much.CheersShad
May 29, 200620 yr well, no big deal as i don't fly it much anyway. i like the 777 better. thanks shad, william
May 29, 200620 yr I'm not sure if this is the same thing, but on my default 747 the white light jumps around from '12 o'clock' to about '2 o'clock' every second or so. It seems to have no impact other than to be annoying. Like you, I rarely fly it so I haven't bothered to do anything about it.
May 29, 200620 yr that sound about the same as mine. i think it should be pointing straight up all the time but guess it's a flaw or whatever. thanks though. william
May 29, 200620 yr Moderator The TRK (track) line will never point straight up unless you are flying with 0/0 winds. It will always be offset slightly to show wind crabbing... Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
May 29, 200620 yr thanks for the heads-up bill! interesting and am happy it was me and not the sim. thanks again, william
May 30, 200620 yr It's not a bug in the game.To further add what was said above. Let me try and explain.Say your heading is 360o and you have a wind from 270o, your going to track to the left of 360o to compensate for the wind pushing you to the right to keep you on the current 360o heading.
