New .xml logic in P3Dv4.2? UT2 Issue

Hi all,

I updated to v4.2 this weekend and now UT2 is not automatically starting up anymore. I only used the Client update and as such, neither exe.xml nor simobjects.cfg or anything else was modified. However, UT2services.exe is not automatically executed anymore when firing up P3D. Now I wonder why? If I manually start UT2services.exe while P3D is starting up, UT2 works as intended and the AI planes are displayed. Otherwise, UT2 remains non-executed.

Did something change with the v4.2 logic? Is it not anymore executed via exe.xml? Do I need to add the execution command somewhere else? Can this problem be related to those misterious SimConnect updates that resulted in strange bugs for ATC windows (selection bug etc.)? Glad for any help, even if UT2 is not officially supporting P3D...

Regards

Chris

Forget about this topic, I found the culprit: somehow, I ticked the box for "run as administrator" in the properties of UT2Services.exe while the Prepar3D.exe did not have this box ticked. Now I switched it, UT2Services.exe without tick and Prepar3D.exe with tick and UT2Services.exe is again executed upon start of P3D. Wonderful.

Glad to hear your sorted, I'm waiting the UT live power-pack then I'll get ut live although the developer has done a runner again with his bad back.

This will depend on how much effort has to be taken on my side to switch to UTLive as soon as PowerPack is released. I am still dreaming of an import function allowing me to import all my UT2 addon schedules into UTLive via Powerpack. But then, still hundreds of repaints and models have to be re-assigned again, I still do not know if I want to go down this route for those little benefits UTLive offers over UT2...
