Hidden replies

Hello team Avsim.

Just a week ago or so, I posted a reply in this forum on a topic which, it seems was deleted, asking about the "hidden reply waiting for approval by a moderator" feature and asking about the criteria being used for selecting which posts or users to block or not.

Today, just a few minutes ago, the same thing just happened to me. This is the 2nd time in a week (give or take) and it's not something I remember seeing here since the beginning of Avsim (which, as I mentioned in the deleted thread, I've been a member off since the older forum system back in 97-98).

I understand this is a volunteer work and that keeping up with the site demands a lot, but there's gotta be a better way. It's kind of annoying and, in my opinion, works against the dynamics of Avsim - or at least the Avsim we all know.

Thanks in advance for your attention and to any comment to my message.

cheers

-E

We do not delete anything.  I will check your account to see what might have been removed from sight.

Hi Jim. Just for the record I wasn't implying you guys actually deleted the thread, that's why I said "seems was deleted" as I was unable to find it after a few days.

Anyhow, I am grateful at the amount of work you guys devote to keeping Avsim our "home", but I honestly think the "hidden" message thing needs a review... or at least let us know what the criteria is.

Thanks again.

Hi Enrique,

Hiding topics and posts is one of the valuable tools moderators across the Internet use when needed.  We are not like some sites where anything goes (like Reddit).  I think I found the other topic you were talking about and yes, it was hidden, because there were continuing attacks on me and our team of moderators. We got others who complained they were unjustly suspended or being moderated because of their conduct asking for free commercial software, etc., and I just cannot allow everyone to come here on AVSIM and complain about everything our moderators do everyday.  Those comments remain hidden.  You can review my post further explaining this at the following link:  https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/532038-hidden-response-on-my-post-really/?do=findComment&comment=3823634

Since this topic is a complaint about our Terms of Service and how we moderate and run AVSIM, I will lock this topic too.
