(RXP) GNS V2 FltSim v2.3.9 question

Featured Replies

Is there a shortcut method for user defined storage location of .fpl files for the RXP GNS v2 series like the shortcut method provided in the RXP GTN series?

I believe this should work because it is a file system level shortcut, managed by Windows.

You might also want to install v2.3.10 update?

Upon checking for updates I found I do have v2.3.10 installed.  Sorry for the error in the title.

First let me say I have the shortcut routine fully working with my GTN. So I fully understand how to do it successfully.   I tried today with the GNS and had no luck.

I have tried placing a shortcut named FPL the following directory:
C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GNS Trainer Data\GNS

The shortcut is named simply FPL  It points to a subfolder contained in: C:\Users\Owner\Flight Simulator X Files\   Which is the folder where I have placed the separate GTN related folder FPLN I point to with the GTN's FPLN shortcut.

I moved my .fpl files to the folder I pointed to in the shortcut.  So I have the shortcut named FPL to match the folder name of the C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GNS Trainer Data\GNS\FPL folder.  The shortcut points to the folder I created.  I placed .fpl flight plans known to be good into that folder; disabled the original folder; and the import function does not appear.  If I re-enable the original folder I get the import function back based on that folder.
