Best Affinity for TrackIR

Featured Replies

Please share your experience with your affinity mask for TrackIr.

Are 2LPs on different cores enough? Perhaps, 4LPs on 2 Cores are Ok?

Any observations that you made about it, please.

Many thanks.

I have my TrackIR 5 limited to the top two logical cores of my I7-6700K. I'm not sure it improves performance that much and it doesn't seem to negatively affect TrackIR either. One other thing that you can try is, in the TrackIR app change the camera mode from Precision to Standard (TrackIR 4 mode). The tracking is less imprecise but you might get a small performance gain in the sim.

Jay, I've been with TrackIR since v1. However I've never come across a discussion about best affinity for TIR

So, what are your "top logical" LPs exactly? Are they LP0 and LP1 on the first physical core? Do you have HT enabled and if so what's your AM for P3D?

Do you happen to use any affinity for MCE (if you use it)? How about VoxATC?

Many thanks.

No AM for P3d4, HT enabled, and using only the last two physical cores (7 and 8) for not only TrackIR but all other apps (ASP4, LNM, REX Skyforce, VOXATC, etc.).

It is probably more of a placebo effect than anything else, but it gives me good performance and no stutters except when ASP4 loads new weather every 15 minutes.
