blurred scenery

Featured Replies

I have a particular freeware aircraft, an historic military jet, which I don't want to name, which seems to throw all the detail out of my scenery and clouds when I cycle through the various views.Re-setting "Render to texture" on and off temporarily solves the problem, but as soon as I cycle through the views again, whether that setting is on or off, the problem recurs. Is this purely because I'm trying to do 400 knots at tree top level, is it an issue of graphics settings, or is it something peculiar to the plane I'm flying?A shame, because otherwise a great aircraft.

Well when you set/un set "render to texture" it just reloads the textures, thus the reason you get the fresh again.Flying at 400kts would choke even the fastest computers, not to mention all the textures loading for each view as you switch views. So I don't think it is aircraft specific. Saying that though I did notice one freeware prop plane that had ground texture issues when turning the NAV lights on and I could never figure out why.So what do I know? Very little. :D

Hmm maybe I need to try another fast jet and see if it does the same thing, but my feeling is that it's just this one. Maybe because it's a bit more visually demanding?

Does it have 32-bit textures by any chance?Convert to DXT3, or, even better, if they have no alpha channel to DXT1, and see the difference. Also resize the textures and make them smaller - much better performance.Best regards.Luis
