March 22, 20188 yr You will see a great view of Crater Lake, Mt. Lassen, the Trinity Alps, Lake Shasta, Lake Berryessa, and Napa's reservoir lake Hennesy. The golf course is Silverado Country club, sadly effected by Napa's fire last year when several hundred homes were lost in the eastern and western hills. The fire was caused by high winds causing power lines to arc. I experienced the similar 1981 arson fires when the temps soared over 100 degrees and high winds. Again the fire burned to Silverado but fortunately air drops limited the home loss to 60 homes. The fire burned within to four miles of my house and I had to hose our roof down due to hot embers falling. Our entire neighborhood was covered with Ashfall from the 35,000 foot plume, much like Mt. St. Helens. Burned into my memory was seeing Eucalyptus trees explode in the eastern hills. Although a suspect was named, the arsonist was never caught and was believed dead some years later. JJ One unheralded feature of Xplane11 is its outstanding replay system which records more than an hour of flight as you go along. I was able to record the entire flight from PDX to Napa and I am playing it back today. It allows one to explore different camera angles, record video (if you have a GEForce with its free video capture software) and/or add more screenshots if you enjoy this forum as much as I do. It also captures the flight at just as high a framerate as it was originally flown. P3D's record feature is not as robust, I can usually get about eight minutes or so of flight before it goes flaky on me. Kudos to Austin for including his replay feature and making it so long lasting and robust. If you want to go into replay in Xplane you can press Alt/R or choose it from the menu. If you like the replay and it covers what you want like my flight yesterday you can save the entire replay just like a flight situation. John
