March 25, 20188 yr Hello, I haven't used MCE in quite some time but decided to load it up today. I ran into a few issues: - I get the message about the demo being over. I have put my license key in the MCE folder as instructed. This license key would hev been generated using a different computer (I did a rebuild a year ago), do I need a new key? - When at the MCE menu, I cannot change any check boxes by clicking on them. - After changing tabs in the menu a few times MCE crashes. This is in P3Dv4, windows 10. UAC is turned off. Thanks, Dave Dave Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU

Download latest MCE here Install to default C:\Program Files (x86)\ folder (do not change installation path) Set "Prepar3D.exe" to run as admin. We don't discuss activation issues on forum. Fill-out "Registration.txt" file found in MCE installation folder and send it to register[at]multicrewxp.com Are you using a USB headset or a conventional one? Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com
March 26, 20188 yr Author Thanks, I will take the steps suggested. I'm curious why I would increase the UAC setting, doesn't that usually cause issues with programs if anything? I'm using a USB headset. Because unlike with Windows XP, Microsoft doesn't really let you have full control on the machine these days. When you start disabling UAC, especially when using the registry hack, it starts reducing your privileges under the hood and you get all sorts of strange things happening. See this thread: Another no no is tampering with folders permissions. The best policy is to keep UAC enabled and set specific programs to run as admin 2fsx.exe", "Prepar3D.exe" and whatever else.
