June 11, 200619 yr D/L FSNordic Maule M-7-260. Nice airplane in all configurations. Have 1 problem. Aileron Trim Ctrl (num 4 or 6 will not trim at all. Nor will trim assignments in setup work. Plane wants to drift right. Using CH Yoke & FS9 and other planes fly nice and straight, but not the Maule.Maybe they don't have an aileron trim ? Elevator trim works fine. Any suggestions will be appreciated.THANKS in ADVANCE. Chuck
June 11, 200619 yr I don't believe the Maule has aileron trim, in the sim or real world. It just requires good old fashioned hand flying :D.
June 12, 200619 yr If I remember correctly, the sim model was fitted with an aileron trim control of some kind to correct that drift tendency. Seems like it was somewhere on the panel. Anybody?Leon
June 12, 200619 yr Have you checked the weight and balance? It could be that you have too much payload or too much fuel on the right side of the plane. I have not noticed that tendency in that plane. R-
June 12, 200619 yr If you have the update to version 1.1 from the FS Nordic site installed you will see in VC mode a chrome-colored rudder trim lever located on the right lower panel under the right control column. Click on the left of the knob (-)or the right side of the knob(+) as necessary to increase or decrease rudder trim. The added rudder trim lever is described in the version 1.1 update documentation:------------------------------------"A version 1.1 UPGRADE for Maule M-7-260 all-in-one package for FS2004 (m7260_v1.zip).This patch fixes the fuel selector and audio panel and adds various features, like dynamic shine, new light effects, Radio Master switch, Right rudder trim lever etc. Original package reguired (m7260_v1.zip). Instrument panel by Kari Virtanen, Ian Grant and Riku Horelli. Sounds by Aaron Swindle.Flight dynamics by Steven Grant. Apollo radio stack by Gerd R. Nehr.3D modeling by Mikko Maliniemi and Tomas Foosnes."I hope this helps you.
June 12, 200619 yr Chuck, this trim lever is also accessible through the regular panel. Go to the View Center on the bottom lefthand side of panel. Click on "View" and this should open the full panel. On the bottom right side of the panel, right next to the light toggle switches, you should see a silver lever labelled "Right Rudder." This is what you need to manipulate. You might have to click on "View" again or play with the other locations on the View Center to make it appear.Regards.Rainer
June 12, 200619 yr Author Another Maule problem--hope it's ok to post here-- when descending the pitch seems way too much, whether in spot view or either cockpit view. A 500 fpm descent, for example, looks like the plane is on a dive bombing run-very steep. The only other plane that I have with this situation is the Caranado 182. When I posyed this question about the 182 a couple months ago, the reply I received was to adjust the cockpit view. Well, that doesn't change the pitch, obviously. There is something not right, in both cases..Thanks for any suggestions..
