A question about FS2004 integration with PPC.

Featured Replies

I purchased a Pocket PC a while back and recently bought a road navigation software and a blue tooth GPS.Now , what would be better than doing a flight in fs2004 and have navigation software on the PPC show me where i am located ?This would be perfect for VFR flying , however i don't think that the position of my fs2k4 aircraft could be inputed to the PPC , could it ?Is there a program that emulates a GPS and inputs the fs2k4 aircraft coordinates to the roadnavigation software ?Bruce.

Technically it should be possible, if the handheld runs Windows Mobile and is networked with your PC, but I am not sure if the the SDKs are supported under Windows Mobile.Even an app to 'just' display the flightplan and maybe some calculators would be great.I agree, that would be great idea.

Hello,This is easily done. Search this forum and you can find everything you need to know. I use gpsout by Pete Dowson of FSUIPC fame, connected to Memory Map software giving me full moving map display. Memory Map is payware, I got mine with 1:50000 United Kingdom coverage so whilst flying with the U.K. VFR scenery I can look out the window and the ground exactly matches the map. Awesome. The hard part was getting the Pocket PC to talk to gpsout, I ended up using a serial cable, as both USB and Bluetooth didn't want to work.good luck,Damunn
