April 10, 20188 yr I hope this isn't an omen for this year's Sun N Fun convention. http://www.theledger.com/news/20180410/plane-flips-at-sun-n-fun-in-lakeland-pilot-ok And to top this off it rained all day today and the crowds were nonexistent. April 12, 20188 yr Good thing is the Rans S6 and most dope and fabric planes are safer in a crash because they have fewer metal parts that might impale a pilot and acrylic windows. I had the pleasure of flying a Rans S6 over Hemet California some years ago. I took it to 9000 feet ASL and flew it over the inland empire, landing with my copilot at another airport for breakfast before letting him fly the return leg to Hemet. It is a good aircraft if powered by a Rotax 912 engine, underpowered if it has a Rotax 582. Ours was powered by a Rotax 912. John
