April 21, 20188 yr Recently I watched a video showing how to handle various emergencies in the MilViz F4E Phantom II. I was fascinated to see that landing on a military air base equipped with emergency arrestor wires, the tail-hook actually did catch the wire and brought the aircraft to a rapid halt. Can anyone tell me how to activate the wires in a military scenery or point me to location where I could learn how to do it? I'm guessing that some kind of program is also needed. Any help would be appreciated as I have often thought it would be an interesting addition to flying military jets at one of the many scenery addons which simulate the wires on the runway.

April 21, 20188 yr Author Thank you Bjoern. I am familiar with their site and use their excellent Aeronavale AI pack. But I didn't realize, or perhaps had forgotten, that they had other stuff pertaining to carrier ops. I'll give it a try. I think it will add just another little touch of realism if you are landing hot at 200 knots in say the Aerosoft Lightning and are running out of runway, to drop the hook and come to a sudden stop... Very cool! I really appreciate your help and all the many, many contributions you have made to this community Ian
