SODE Installation

Sorry for this ultra basic question.

Trying to get  SODE to work with my P3D4. The installation goes pretty well up to a point where the Platform Manager is running, then locks up, declaring that SimConnect is not installed, and suggests that I install what looks like an earlier FSX version of SimConnect.

Is this right ..... I thought P3D4 came with SimConnect, and that everything would fall into place.    Any help appreciated ..... have I somehow got a 32 bit version ????   Cheers.

The P3Dv4.2 SimConnect client that my Platform Manager and Windows Apps and Features list is Microsoft Flight Simulator Simconnect Client v10.0.61259.0 (SP2/X_PACK).  This should appear in your Settings > Apps and Features list.  It should be installed by the P3D installer.

The SimConnect installers(SimConnect.msi) come included with P3D can be found in the following P3D folders.

...Prepar3Dv4\redist\Interface\FSX-RTM\retail\lib

...Prepar3Dv4\redist\Interface\FSX-SP1\retail\lib

...Prepar3Dv4\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib

Whenever in doubt if SimConnect is installed just run the .msi installers.

Is there a good tutorial on how SODE works.  I have it and have never used it because I don't know how.  I am just CTRL+J for the jetway and that is all I know but I don't think this works with SODE.

If you have any PMDG products, you may want to assign a second hot key for SODE jetways because the default uses Tab, which is going to be intercepted by the CDU scratchpad toggle on/off.  Jump in Mark, the SODE solution is growing as more and more developers incorporate it in their designs:  FSDT, Flightbeam, Imaginesim and others.

I use Shift + J which is the same as the default jetways. Works and easy to remember.
