Xaudio2_6 error FSX

Recommended Posts

Dear All,

Well, I am experiencing that error since almost a week now, all with the same plane QW787 .......Which is, by the way, an amazing plane with some option I am enjoying very much makes me want to continue flying that bird........ The error went as follows:

First flight OEJN-EGCC it's about 6 hours three tries, The first flight and the second using the Qw I kind of noticed that the FSX crashes with the above error almost at the same spot about 400nm from TOD - I changed the flight plan at the second flight-, I tried the flight with a 777 and it went alright, then I tried the QW again and flight accomplished without a problem this time.

Second fight CYUL-EHAM again a 6 hours flight two tries, both of flight crashed 50nm! from EHAM at FL170 and after a right turn being vectored by FSX ATC to ILS RWY06 almost at the same spot with again Xaudio2_6 error, that was last night.

What I learned after research between flights is the fact that, the error is happening due to not updated sound drivers which I did and possibly a DX10 problem, so I  installed the newest version from MS site which gave me a message saying I have the latest version already!

I went through tools like driver booster, windows repair, Ccleaner, Norton 360 to exclude files from antiviruses and firewalls, checked the integrity of the system,  downloaded a  newer version of Xaudio2_6.ddl  with no luck so far.

My questions are: Why with a certain product this error only occurs?...... Why and how the error happens at the same exact location? ............A help would be highly appreciated.

Many thanks

Alaa Riad

One person fixed this problem by lowering his overclock to the optimal default -

Since the module is part of the Windows 10 and your sound drivers, you might want to make sure you sound drivers are up-to-date.  The module did load okay at LoadedModule179 so something happened after the driver was loaded.  This is why it is most likely a bad overclock.  You might want to also run System File Checker to look for any corrupted files - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system

In any case, it is a system problem and not a FSX issue.

Thank you, Jim, so much, I will try what you mentioned gradually and will let you know.....FYI I did the CYUL-EHAM flight today using 747 and it went OK ....However, after the flight, I checked out of curiosity the EventViewer and I found this error which did not cause the sim to crash,  I thought to let you see it .......

According to PMDG, if you ever used the EMT tool, it will cause this error -

If the error occurred while shutting down FSX, then this means the module or simulator did not shutdown properly.  I have my FSX and P3D set to prompt on exit and errors like this will go away.

In regards to the other error, I see you are trying to figure out how to lower your overclock (if overclocked).  You need to go into your BIOS and look for the option to save your settings at the optimal default.  I have an ASUS motherboard and I have to hit the Del key several times when starting up my computer system until the BIOS shows up.  Once it shows up, I can click on F10 (Save) and it will give me the option to save at optimal defaults.  This procedure varies with different motherboard manufacturers.  If you know who made your motherboard, go to Google Search and type in something like, "how do I save optimal default settings for my [name of motherboard such as Gigabyte, MSI, ASRock, EVGA, etc.] motherboard".  Click enter and you should have directions with pictures.

I had to google to know what the EMT is? ......I never used before

Regarding overclocking I never did that too I only read about it, I did some more cleaning to the system and I will lower the setting at FSX, then I will try a shorter flight hoping it will end peacefully ......

Also, I tried  the system files checker and fund no corrupted modules on my system.

Good news and thanks for updating.  I have found registries get corrupted occasionally and why we put this suggestion in the AVSIM CTD Guide, page 26.
