May 22, 20188 yr Administrators Welcome to the AVSIM forums I have split your post off from the old 2004 topic. One last request, if you could embed your pictures showing what you are describing, that would be preferable. May 23, 20188 yr Administrators I have tried several flights in cloudy conditions and have come to the conclusion that, at least, default clouds, don't do much more than look decent and act like dense fog when flying through them. Perhaps payware weather or cloud programs would provide better visuals. May 24, 20188 yr Is that a real world photo? Occasionally I've noticed that when jets are flying high above a layer of fairly thin cloud, their contrail can leave a dark shadow on the cloud below depending on the position of the sun. I have never actually seen them parting the clouds though. I agree with Charlie's comment on default clouds. I didn't use payware weather until a few years ago but I should have installed in long ago as the difference it made to the sense of immersion was amazing! Bill
