Outastanding FSX Steam Edition bugs?

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone,

I've just bought FSX: Steam Edition as it was on sale on Steam. I have a bit of history with the pre-steam edition version but grew  tired of some game breaking issues which pushed me away from the platform for a few years 😕

Just wandering what changes have been made from the previous (non-steam version) and which bugs are still present in the software?

Thanks 🙂

With the introduction of 64-bit sims, FSX with the memory limitations no longer seems to be a viable option, especially with the latest add-ons being developed. But, this is just my opinion.

I had issues with the original FSX like you did and went back to FS9 (2004). Gave FSX Steam edition a try and never looked back. Have about a 700 hours on FSX Steam edition, only had one crash because of a bad freeware scenery file.  FSX:SE runs smoother and faster. If you do a clean install of FSX:SE meaning you didn’t have the original FSX nonSteam version installed, just about every add on should work. If you did have the original FSX installed I think there are some guides how to do a complete removal the original FSX and would recommend this before installing FSX:SE.  i am using Windows 7, not sure how well it will work on Windows 10.

Specs: black box thingy with spinning fans, lights and a bunch of wires that go to screens with pretty colours and a keyboard with many keys. The black box thingy also has a push button activated coffee cup holder.
