Crash when starting a fly

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have FSX Professional Edition, and yesterday I bought a SSD drive for my PC with Windows 10. The problem is, yesterday I tried to install FSX as a new program - since all what I had on my old HDD was deleted - and, after what seems a successfully installation, I tried to use it. But if I start a mission flight or I just click on "Free flight" in the top-left menu FSX crashes without any warning/error message.

So I tried to launch the Event Viewer, eventvwr.exe and it has reported an error. This is the report:

I have translated the report manually from Italian, so I apologize if something is not like a report in English. Anyway, I hope this can help, because I'm worried I couldn't use FSX for a lot, lot of time.

Welcome to the AVSIM forums.

Here is some good reading about your API.dll crash:

In your case you only have FSX Deluxe RTM Version installed so anything that requires SP1 or SP2/Acceleration will not run properly and you will get the API.dll error.
