August 6, 20187 yr dear all, i'm looking to find the right payware (or freeware) aircraft which fits the following requirements: - good FMS with procedure support, specifically holding entry and RNAV approaches - good autopilot / FMC which is able to keep up with the FMS ;-) - possibility to manually modify/extend the nav database with custom/experimental SID / STAR / Approach Procedures - Preferably jet class performance - fairly accurate takeoff, climb, cruise and descent performance - no internet connection needed (other than for initial install) - P3D 4.3 compatible - for once, things system failures or the most perfect graphics are NOT important. thanks for steering me in the right direction! regards, cavoknosig

August 13, 20187 yr Author ceiling and visibility ok, no significant (wx) changes should always be good news to pilots ;-) i'm actually an air traffic controller by trade. the project is off duty so should be fine with the various personal licensing models in place. monitoring the forums for years btw, just never had a need to post ;-) still looking for hints / recommendations...?
August 13, 20187 yr The classic recommendations for this: PMDG Jets, FSLabs Airbusses. If you can accept a slightly reduced realism regarding non-standard procedures (as mentioned in your post), you can expand this list with the Aerosoft Airbus Professional Series, the QualityWings 787 and the Aerosoft CRJ 700/900. Or: simply browse on simmarket for aircraft that are P3Dv4.x compatible and read some reviews of the corresponding planes... Or: simply browse on simmarket for aircraft that are P3Dv4.x compatible and read some reviews of the corresponding planes... thank you very much! i did arrive more or less at that shortlist... and yes, i absolutely can accept less realism on the system simulation other than the FMS/flight guidance. regarding the custom procedures capability: other than some mention about custom procedures for the PMDG 737NG (from 2014 / fsx version) which implies that it is (or at least was) possible to code custom procedures, i did not find any reference to any aircraft with that capability? also, does the current PMDG P3D v4.3 version still support that capability? could somebody specifically comment on this? also, does the PMDG777 e.g. inherit all the behaviour in that regard from the 737 or is it a completely separate product/implementation? regards, cavoknosig
