June 14, 200520 yr First, some stats from the Forum Admin system: http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/119593.jpg This data is from the month ending today (June 14th at approx. 4 pm EST). What does all this mean?Log Entries: The total number of all IP's that viewed or accessed the forums in the preceeding 30 days. The peak is the number of IPS that occured on what day during the last 30 day period.Unique IPS: Of the log entries, the number of these that were unique. In other words, if John Smith visited the forums three times a day (on a single IP), only one of those visits would count in this stat, whereas in LOG ENTRIES, all three of those visits would have been counted.Total Posts: During the last 30 days, the number of posts made in that period and the day during that period which saw the highest number of posts. With over 22,000 members and rapidly growing, we once again thank the AVSIM Community for making our forum the largest and most read in the hobby. Thank you for participating and helping us to grow this free service.

June 21, 200520 yr Tom,Hey that's my line ... "don't get me started" ... think I used it only recently when talking of a mutual acquaintance. http://www.fsd-international.com/dc/images/tom_and_jerry.gif2 posts only ? Either I am either forgetting who I am, or the old ID expired due lack of use in the time limit. Probably the latter - but hey it could be the former. Getting old does that :-)Greets, .....http://www.fsd-international.com/team/Steve_signature.gif

June 24, 200520 yr Yes, big numbers indeed.I did a similar data run on the number of unique user IDS for the last 30 days that had signed on. Don't care how often they signed on, just that they signed on at least once in the last 30 days. This came from "check who's online", using the time range of "check last one month". I worked the data into an Excel file and then let it count. I won't utter my result, but it is significantly different then these values. But I measured differently. And then to go to look even closer at the data, count the number of total number of "lifetime" posts made by those who have signed on in the laST 30 DAYS. The 80% by 20% -- significant few - insignicant many of Pareto's law is even true here. ;-)Numbers are numbers are numbers.Regards,BobShttp://s95171098.onlinehome.us/junk/aopa.jpgSeems the rage to talk about the "size and speed" of each others computer. Beat this if you can for solving novel/unique problem anywhere in the cosmos. ..Have K&E and know how to use it!
