Difference between sim and CP zoom level value

Just out of curiosity why is there a difference between sim default and CP zoom level number? If the sim (P3D v4) zoom level is 0.5 it co-relates to zoom level 1 in ChasePlane control panel.

There is. The zoom value in the sim will change depending on the WideViewAspect setting
