September 26, 20187 yr I am having trouble with the color of my skies. No matter what I do, until I get to a high altitude, the skies look grey or bright white. I use PTA with Gerald’s (I think that is his name) monthly presets and suggested settings. I am also using Active Sky and Rex Sky Force. I get a bluer sky at higher altitude but the horizon looks grey. I also get a brighter white when panning views and that generally fades away eventually. What settings do I need to get rid of this? Sitting on the ground today the sky in real life should be a crisp blue. In P3d, it is too grey and white without clouds. Additionally, until I get closer to the clouds, they are hard to contrast them against the sky as they are all somewhat the same color. Thoughts? September 26, 20187 yr Author I should also mention that this happens with whatever community theme I use with Skyforce Intel Core i7 12700K (5.0GHz Max Boost Clock) 12-Core CPU 32GB G.Skill Performance DDR4 SDRAM 3600MHz Graphics Processor:12GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, GDDR6x System 2TB Western Digital, NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive
September 26, 20187 yr Moderator Until you get the color you want I would first disable PTA, do not run AS - then make whatever adjustments you need to SF to get the color you want. Then add back PTA and AS - see how and if it affects sky color. IIRC Gerard's presets leaned a little to the blue side. You could also disable the haze layer in AS but then you have no haze which is unreal. RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
September 26, 20187 yr Author When you say disable, do you mean uninstall? Intel Core i7 12700K (5.0GHz Max Boost Clock) 12-Core CPU 32GB G.Skill Performance DDR4 SDRAM 3600MHz Graphics Processor:12GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, GDDR6x System 2TB Western Digital, NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive
September 26, 20187 yr Moderator Basically just restore the original P3D HLSLshaders. Rerun the PTA preset when you are done. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

I'm not in front of my PC but I'd open it up and click "restore" or something along those lines. So in your example, I would restore to default in PTA, go into Skyforce and reinstall whichever theme I want, go back into PTA and reinstall/save Gerard's preset, load P3d and I should be all set? I do that once, and I like it I should be good to go right? September 26, 20187 yr Moderator Yes, that's about it. Find what you like in SkyForce first and then go from there. You should be able to come up with a color that pleases you. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
