Missing info from Airbus Professional

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I just purchased the FS2crew for airbus and im very disappointed. The manual isn't as detailed like the 747 or 738 or 777 and there are no instructions for the engine start. Also  I see no option for briefings either for the approach or the take off. The First officer doesn't start the plane, turn on the lights, he just set the flaps after engine start. After requesting engine start I do not see information to get past the command  S.crew/Eng Start. First officer does not advise when passing transition level. Can some please help me with this? Failing that would I be able to get a refund?

Update, found the briefing buttons but the other issues still stand.

The Airbus version is pretty close to Airbus SOPs.

It's not a Boeing; Airbus does things differently.

In Airbus, the Captain/Pilot flying (that's you) starts the engines.

Engine start is listed in the Captain's flows section of the manual:

Pushback and Engine Start

FS2CREW MODE: S.CREW/ENG START

(If Push Back Required)
Speak: "COCKPIT TO GROUND".
Speak: "WE ARE READY FOR PUSHBACK AND ENGINE START".
Speak: "BRAKES RELEASED".
When instructed, speak: "BRAKE SET".
Speak: "YOU ARE CLEARED TO DISCONNECT AND GO TO HAND SIGNALS". <- THIS COMMAND IS WHAT TRIGGERS THE MODE CHANGE TO 'A. START PROC'.

(If Not Pushing Back - Starting Engines at the Stand)
Speak: "COCKPIT TO GROUND".
Speak: "WE ARE READY FOR ENGINE START".
Speak: "YOU ARE CLEARED TO DISCONNECT AND GO TO HAND SIGNALS". <- THIS COMMAND IS WHAT TRIGGERS THE MODE CHANGE TO 'A. START PROC''.

In Airbus, the Pilot Flying (again that's you) announces "Set Standard".  The Pilot Monitoring doesn't.

That's right from the Airbus book.

Runway entry procedure is linked to the "Cabin Crew Seats for Departure" call out.

This is a bit different from standard Airbus, which generally does this flow below the line in the Before Takeoff checklist.

TRIGGER -> CAPTAIN SPEAKS: "CABIN CREW SEATS FOR DEPARTURE".

  • TCAS TARA
  • Check Approach Clear of Traffic.
  • Packs 1 and 2 To Off (If Packs Off Takeoff selected on Brief Panel).
  • Runway Turnoff Lights On.
  • Nose Light Takeoff.
  • Strobes On.
  • Sliding Table Stow.
  • Brake Fans Off.
  • Engine Mode Selector (The Captain will have issued a command to set the Selector to Ignition prior to this flow).

Take a look a the FO's and Capt's flows section in the manual.

It is the heart of the manual:

Thank you, I also received emails from you guys. The flows is a better checklist to refer to than the general checklist which is what I was given once finished installing.
