After fuller investigation of RC4 I decided it has too many features missing as it stands (no ground control, no VFR ATC etc.) so am back thinking about fsHOTsfx.A bit of a worry is that the support forum seems dead, some people angry and wanting a refund as 'support' never replies to their e-mails! Did you get your activation key OK IsmetM? Seems too that I need an internet connection to get things running, which my FS PC does not have.May just stick with what I've got in the end!M

Forgot to ask one other thing: can I install FSHotSFX on my FS9 PC, which does not have an internet connection, or is this going to be a hassle? Can't find a note of installation procedures anywhere, but it seems as if I must have an internet connection on the PC I am installing to??Thanks.Martin

haha! Martin - i just purchased the licence and i too have a FS pc setup away from the net!! i am just going to email the makers to find out if they can send me a licence file to unlock because it seems rediculous!will let you know asa

In the end I spent some time setting up shared internet access, from my PC through a fire wire cable to my FS laptop, so that now, when I need to get online to register add-ons, I can do so. Good luck with their tech support. I didn't get any reply when I asked the same question a couple of weeks back. I did get a reply (about another problem - the *!$

BTW, the fix (apparently - not tested it yet) for the radio problems is as follows (e-mail from fshotseat):In the FSHotSFX.ini file located in the main FSHSFX folder add this to disable ident:[Options]Ident=1

Once for my laptop and once for the main pc. The product runs well on FS9 and was well supported. Support however now seems to have died a death. Maybe due to the imminent release of FSX.I will say however that the time's I've had to mail hotseat support regarding lost keys etc they have been very quick to respond. I have no complaints....

Maybe it is just the support forum that has died a death. Unfortunately, the 'fix' they suggested for the radio problems, as above, does not work. With FSHotSFX installed, the NAV1 & NAV2 radios keep switching off during APR landings (and switching on, seemingly at random, during the flight), making an IFR flight virtually impossible. I tried turning FSHotSFX off during a flight (very inconvenient, as it means minimizing FS), but as all the FSHotSFX files load at FS startup, that doesn't work.It is SO frustrating to have a programme like this that is great on the ground (those AI jet sounds make such a difference) but messes up the flight itself. I hope their support can fix things,M.
