RXP GTN X-Plane v2.5.7: installation iPersistFile message

Recommended Posts

Hi Jean-Luc,

When installing gtn 750 and then during the installation of the updates I get the following message in the course of the installation procedure but if I press OK the procedure continues. What does this message mean?
Incidentally, the program works well

Hi, I would have appreciated a translation!

I don't know what the issue is on your system, but it seems it just means Windows is not capable of creating a desktop shortcut to the User's Manual PDF file. The reasons could be somehow the source file is not accessible (not installed, locked up ?!?), or your user account desktop folder is not accessible either.

The path to the user's manual is:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP\GTN Simulation\X-Plane\Reality XP GTN User's Manual (XPlane).pdf"

While I did the install, I got a message saying "You are up to date!" when I wasn't.  I wonder if you forgot to increment a number somewhere in the procedure?

Whenever you reinstall using the installer previously downloaded to your hard drive, the installer 'check update' tells whether the installer is the latest version. Saves you from downloading from our website each time, or, saves you from wondering if there is a new version or not prior reinstalling.

On the other hand, the 'check update' in-sim tells whether the installed/running version is the latest.

Anyhow thank you for your feedback. Next update will have a different wording:

"Check installer version (the installer will check for updates)"

Otherwise I'm open to suggestions!

Het systeem kan het opgegeven bestand niet vinden

is

The system can not find the specified file

I knew the path for the to the user's manual
my problem was actually the message that the shortcut could not be made

windows 10 has many hidden things that we do not always understand

thanks for your explanation
