After absolving some Trail-missions this one doesn't work. Missionfolder is only named "Mission" and FSX can't find it.

Folder-renaming---no way. I tried to contact the author (*******@juno.com)---also maildomain!

No idea about difference to other addons.

email address removed. Use the PM system for member to member contacts as emails can be scanned and used for malware/spoofing attacks. An e-mail will be sent to the OP when a PM is used.

I suspect this is an addon you found on the Internet or in the AVSIM Library?  Like - https://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=mission&CatID=fsxmsn&Sort=Name&ScanMode=0&Page=3 (must be signed into the Library to view the search results).  FSX is an old program and some of the developers who created these add-ons are no longer interested in flight simulation, are no longer with us, have changed e-mail addresses many times since posting the add-on, etc.  I do not know how to help you other than to make sure the mission you installed is located in the Mission folder for FSX. 

I downloaded from the AVSIM Library and installed this Mission.  I re-labeled the folder called Mission to Appalachian Trail Massachusetts and installed it to FSX/Missions/Back Country folder.  It worked fine.

 

Well--FSX isn't the newest, but not bad! Using years along many addons and fighting with bugs I was irritated about title only "Mission". After neweinstall it works--however--without renaming. Think we must be happy about new addons😊---not so much last time.
