Runaway S340

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

I have flown this plane a few times, and with few problems. Today for some crazy reason, it wants to run away, even with the throttle levers fully retarded. I am using the GF throttle quadrant, but also checked the prop levers on the flight deck. Have to sit on the brakes as hard as i can, and it will not quit rolling way too fast. Anyone ever have this problem, or a solution?

What I've noticed sometimes is that after the engines start-up, the RPM are abnormally high. If you want to start taxiing in that condition you won't be able to control your speed. What I've done is to reset the scenario or reload the aircraft, and start again.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Ed,

One shouldn't have to do this. Does it always do this with you? Or is it just sometimes? Must be a bug somewhere. I tried it both cold and dark, and starting the engines myself; same result. I will give it a try again tomorrow. Note you also have the F1 GTN750 as I do. It doesn't seem to work very well in the S340. I have to click click and click again to get a flight plan in or do a procedure. Sound of the GTN is way louder than in other planes; and hard to work properly. Have you experienced this? Cheers,

Lennie

Yes, of course it shouldn't have to be that way. It happens only sometimes to me, maybe one out of five times?. I've been able to reproduce the same issue on other Carenado turboprops too, like the Dornier Do228. I think it's maybe something not working properly or a bug with their gauges. Regarding the GTN 750, I'm lucky enough, it works OK for me for all aircraft on which it's installed, Carenado and the others.

Carenado aircraft are well known by their excellent texture and visual quality, but systems wise they don't have the best reputation in the market. That's the way it is.
