June 20, 200520 yr Hi,Guys, my memory is failing...anyone know the answer to this one...AC888/889 CYYZ-EGLL-VABB-WSSS ( this was quite a few years ago.... )What aircraft was it... a 744 or a 742?Cheers,Paul
June 21, 200520 yr Looking at an Air Canada Schedule (Effective Nov 1, 1996), shows no flight number 888 or 889 from CYYZ to EGLL. So I'd imagine it was before this time? Knowing the year would help, checking http://www.airliners.net/ shows 74M's and 74E's (74M-747-200 74E-747-400). Looking in the schedule dated Nov 1, 1996, I can find Air Canada still flying the 747-200. Also Airliners.net shows the 747-100, 747-200, and 747-400 going into EGLL... Good Luck...http://www.airliners.net/open.file/387340/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/265858/L/ http://www.airliners.net/open.file/068790/L/ http://www.airliners.net/open.file/057668/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/005568/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/002712/L/
June 21, 200520 yr Author Thanks...This was back around 1988/89... it originally had a different flight number, but it was unlucky in India, so they changed it for 888/889... I took it lots of times from Heathrow to Bombay.... I even worked for AC at the time... I just cannot for the life of me remember if it was a 744 or a 742.Around that time they were just phasing out the L1011's and it was 74's and 76's.Will continue the search...cheers,Paul
June 22, 200520 yr If it was definitely in 88/89 then it would have had to be a 747-200, Air Canada's first -400 (C-GMWW) being delivered in November 1990.
June 22, 200520 yr Author Thanks Ben,It was definetly before 1990...so that answers the question.... a 742.Cheers,Paul
