Multiple GPS Xplane 11

Featured Replies

Does anyone know whether or not you can run both a Reality Xp GTN750 and a reality XP GNS 530 at the same time in xplane.   I'm thinking of getting a Bezel from Real sim gear and want to be sure I can run both.

thanks in advance.

Hi Paul,

Yes you can! Both our GNS V2 and GTN are designed for this configuration, which means they also work with the "Master Device" setting.

The rule for dual devices setup is to only use a #1 unit with a #2 unit

I sometimes want one and sometimes the other (never both), so I have them both as #1, but switch them on and off according to need.

I shall add there are no functional differences between a #1 and a #2 device.

The only difference is that a #1 default settings are COM1/NAV1 and a #2 default setting are COM2/NAV2.

Further on X-Plane, a #1 also defaults to pilot side (and GPS1 datarefs/commands) and #2 defaults to copilot side (and GPS2 datarefs/commands).

You can override COM/NAV set with settings, as well as pilot/copilot side, but you can't override GPS1/GPS2 datarefs/commands sets.

The other bore is having to change the iPad orientation between portrait for GTN750 and landscape for GNS430W
