November 15, 20187 yr Is there any way to add visual points to a flight plan? When I try to add as a waypoint I get a message that it’s not found in the database. VPLSR, VPLVT, etc. Also, I just updated to R5 today and now I’m getting TOD errors with my flight plans. Everything appears to be correct with my alt, gs, and vs, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks! November 15, 20187 yr Commercial Member When you define your own waypoints, they are for VFR flights only and will not be accepted by your GPS/FMC. You have to fly the route using headings in the flight plan. There are some issues in the current version with TOD calculations. An R6 version is being tested that should fix these. Dave
November 15, 20187 yr Author Thanks Dave. Just to clarify, these are published ”Visual Point” way points that show up on the sectional (landmarks for visual reference). They show up on my FlyQ EFB sectional and in my RXP Garmin GPS 430W. They don’t seem to be recognized by the P2ATC flight plan, however. A few examples: VPLSR (Hawthorne 405 Freeway) VPLKH (King Harbor) Thanks!
November 15, 20187 yr Commercial Member Ahh, OK. Those are not published IFR "intersections" and so are not in the databases published by Jeppesen, etc. Therefore, they are not in the Navigraph or NavDataPro data that drives P2ATC. I suspect they are not supported by the SIM's GPS/FMC devices either. You could add them to a VFR Flight Plan as User Waypoints so your displayed course would include them and you could then fly it manually. Dave
November 15, 20187 yr Author Ok gotcha! Thanks for clarifying. That probably explains why I can’t see them visually on the sectional from within P2ATC, either. Thanks!
