Hi Oliver,

Sorry but what is FLAi? Have I missed another option? And I really don't know anything about LLTX - sorry.

On searching for FLAi it appears to be of use to VATSIM users but I don't use VATSIM. If you think LLTX and FLAi is a good alternative to MT6 then I'm happy to try it providing there isn't a lot of manual work required to set things up. I still have a lot of airports to install and other things to get P3D as I want it.

Understood regarding the sleeper program.

Hello Ray,

FLAi is just a collection of aircraft models for AI purposes. There are no flight plans or anything else involved. The VATSIM client uses them to depict the other players.

LLTX would be my own LorbyLiveTraffic, which accesses online databases to display the actual traffic in your sim, that is happening outside of your window. You can choose between a free datasource which is a bit "meh", and a paid service provided by a third party which is pretty good. PSXSeecon does the same thing, but AFAIK it only uses the paid service as datasource.

In LLTX you can opt to either have "live-live" traffic, meaning that the aircraft will always be where they are in the real world - except for ground traffic, which LLTX does not display in this mode. Or you can use the "Simulator AI" mode, where LLTX will create a normal simulator AI that will fly the same flight plan as the real one (as AI do - no advanced routing between departure and arrival, only direct GPS). The latter AI work as normal AI does, including ATC.

The setup is simple. Just add the FLAi models to your simulator as usual (using an add-on.xml), select the FLAi mapping database in LLTX (make sure to read chapter 1 of the manual!) and the mode of operation of your choice. LLTX app and manual are available as free downloads on the Lorby website.

Best
Oliver

Thanks for taking the time to explain the program and processes Oliver. I'll have a think about it. Its main benefit is it uses actual flights instead of ficticious ones (or ones years old no longer in use) in commercial programs.

I suppose you're only limited by the number of matching aircraft and liveries. The subscription service costs need taking into account too of course.

Food for thought.
