Something fishy at FilePlanet ?

Featured Replies

Not had an email myself yet but noticed that http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/flight%5Fsimx/is still active ?Does this mean that people signing up now still have a chance ?Just seems a bit odd ....

Maybe FilePlanet is keeping the page up because it's generating a ton of money in new subscriptions. Maybe they're out of Beta keys, but can't bring themseves to shut down the FSX beta sign up page because their lovin the money. It's just a possibility, and to be honest, I think a very real one.

It's just not working yet. Maybe I need to try harder.

I tried to register and was redirected to a subscription screen. I guess you have to pay to have a chance to tinker with the beta? Pay to beta test? LOL.

Yes, I agree!Besides,Maybe I am too old to see/realize/understand the relationship between the magazines subscribed (Girls on.....?) on one hand and a flight simulator on the other! No subscription for me!I will wait and see if the beta goes public. If not, the copy of the FSX is not too long to wait for!Haraldh F.

It was a subscriber only, it wont be available for free.

Thank you for contacting FilePlanet support! We would like to offer the following suggestions based on the subject of your ticket request:All currently available betas are listed on FilePlanet's front page. If a beta is not seen there, it is most likely closed to due keys exhuasted or the beta has ended. The word [CLOSED] will be on the page demoting it is closed if you should find an old file download. Please note some restrictions apply. Some betas may be regulated and limited by age or country location. FilePlanet does not determine this and cannot open the beta to you outside of these restrictions.Keys are limited and once they run out the sign up period is over.If you are looking for a copy of your key, this can be found on your Beta Keys Archive page: http://www.fileplanet.com/betas/keydisplay.aspxIf you are having trouble signing up for a beta due to page errors, please close all browser windows and reopen only one. Make sure your browser is not blocking cookies, java and the pop up blocker is off.If you are attempting to register an account on a beta site using a key you received from FilePlanet and that site is not allowing you to register or is giving you errors you must contact that specific site.BLA BLA BLA automated message.

Just a typical blow-off response.I would take that with a grain of salt. Usually the folks who cut and paste... er.... personally take the time to manually type out personalized email responses (HAH!) in large companies have no idea what's going on with particular betas/programs. I'd ignore it.

File Planet told me that the beta emails were sent out earlier this week, and that's that. My impression is knowone else is getting into the beta.Greetings Brannon,The emails confirming that you were accepted by Microsoft into the Flight Simulator X beta testing were sent out earlier this week. If you were not selected, we apologize for the inconvenience and hope that you will enjoy the other upcoming subscriber only betas and trials that will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. Regards, David Bohm, Customer Service Specialist

I still think that there is no reason to give up, because yesterday morning some people got emails...Besides, it'd be false advertising if all the keys were used up yet they were keeping the FSX beta signup page open. http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/flight_simx/

Here you go I just recieved this mail. I signed up ages ago but file planet said I never signed up for the beta. Thanks a lot guys....The beta sign-ups for the Flight Simulator X beta testing were closed as of last week. We apologize for the inconvenience. For your troubles, I have given you a free months extension to your subscription and hope that you will enjoy the other upcoming subscriber only betas and trials that will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead.

The refgistration page went offline now. That is the end of hopes for those who did not get it. I already cancelled subscription - what a scam!
