December 4, 20187 yr Hello, whats the correct commands/ to do a step climb ? I have trouble to get a clearence for a higher flightlevel then the initial altitude from fliightplan thank you
December 4, 20187 yr Commercial Member You can request a new cruise altitude as follows: "<CallSign> request new altitude of FL340" Dave
November 14, 20196 yr It won't let me. I get the correct sound for P2A understanding me, but I never get a response. And if I climb anyway, the last time it demanded that I descend to an altitude 6000 feet lower than my previous approved one.
November 14, 20196 yr Commercial Member It should give you a new cruise altitude. If you want to send me ([email protected]) the log file, I'll have a look. P2A Log files are located in: C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\P2A_200\Logs where <UserName> is your PC user name. Portions of the path may be hidden by default, so be sure Windows Explorer has Show Hidden Items checked in the View tab. A new one is created each time you start Pilot2ATC, and is closed when you shut it down. So if you take the most recent one after you have the error and after you shut down P2A, you should have the correct one. Dave
November 14, 20196 yr Hi Dave, and thanks for the quick reply. Maybe it's my phrasing, then. I found the bit in the log where it never responded. It looks like it's throwing an error with the max altitude along route, which is funny because the flight plan validated and filed OK. Here's the interesting bit: Started ListeningUnInterruptAudio in OnPilotEndSpeaking 11/14/2019 03:11:17AudioInterrupts: 0 in UnInterruptAudio 03:11:17 WaveOutPlayer Playing in UnInterruptAudio 03:11:17Stopped ListeningRecognized Speech: SOLARIS One ZeroSeventy Six Request Climb to Flight Level Three Four Zero 03:11:17HandleAltitudeChangeRequest 03:11:17Geo.GetMaxElevationALongPath error thrown: at line 360rOnReachedNextClimbAltitude: 32000; CurAlt: 31999; FPM: 0; 03:11:18ReachedLastClimbAltitude_CausedExit 03:11:18InterruptAudio in OnPilotSpeaking 11/14/2019 03:11:50AudioInterrupts: 1 in InterruptAudio 03:11:50 WaveOutPlayer Paused in InterruptAudio 03:11:50Started ListeningUnInterruptAudio in OnPilotEndSpeaking 11/14/2019 03:11:55AudioInterrupts: 0 in UnInterruptAudio 03:11:55 WaveOutPlayer Playing in UnInterruptAudio 03:11:55Stopped ListeningRecognized Speech: SOLARIS One ZeroSeventy Six Request Climb to Flight Level Three Four Zero 03:11:55HandleAltitudeChangeRequest 03:11:55Geo.GetMaxElevationALongPath error thrown: at line 360rOnReachedNextClimbAltitude: 32000; CurAlt: 31996; FPM: 0; 03:11:55ReachedLastClimbAltitude_CausedExit 03:11:55InterruptAudio in OnPilotSpeaking 11/14/2019 03:12:44AudioInterrupts: 1 in InterruptAudio 03:12:44 WaveOutPlayer Paused in InterruptAudio 03:12:44Started ListeningUnInterruptAudio in OnPilotEndSpeaking 11/14/2019 03:12:50AudioInterrupts: 0 in UnInterruptAudio 03:12:50 WaveOutPlayer Playing in UnInterruptAudio 03:12:50Recognized Speech: SOLARIS One ZeroSeventy Six Request New Altitude of Flight Level Three Four Zero 03:12:50Stopped ListeningHandleAltitudeChangeRequest 03:12:50Geo.GetMaxElevationALongPath error thrown: at line 360rOnReachedNextClimbAltitude: 32000; CurAlt: 31996; FPM: 0; 03:12:50ReachedLastClimbAltitude_CausedExit 03:12:50InterruptAudio in OnPilotSpeaking 11/14/2019 03:14:07AudioInterrupts: 1 in InterruptAudio 03:14:08 WaveOutPlayer Paused in InterruptAudio 03:14:08Started ListeningUnInterruptAudio in OnPilotEndSpeaking 11/14/2019 03:14:14AudioInterrupts: 0 in UnInterruptAudio 03:14:14 WaveOutPlayer Playing in UnInterruptAudio 03:14:14Recognized Speech: SOLARIS One ZeroSeventy Six Request Climb to Flight Level Three Four Zero 03:14:14Stopped Listening
November 14, 20196 yr Commercial Member Are you running the latest version 2.6.1.0? The prior version had an issue with elevation calculations that probably caused this error. The newest version fixes it. Dave
November 14, 20196 yr I wasn't at the time. I was running 2.6.0.0, but I just updated, so hopefully it won't happen again :) Once again, I appreciate the outstanding support on this great product over the years (had it since 2.0.0.0, won't ever fly without it again!)
November 14, 20196 yr Commercial Member Glad you like the program. If this happens with the new version, email me the full log file to [email protected] and I'll see if something is broken. Thanks, Dave
November 15, 20196 yr Happy to report that everything worked perfectly with the new version. Got my FL change approved, same route, just about same exact location! Thanks! :)
