It won't let me. I get the correct sound for P2A understanding me, but I never get a response. And if I climb anyway, the last time it demanded that I descend to an altitude 6000 feet lower than my previous approved one.

It should give you a new cruise altitude.  If you want to send me (admin@pilot2atc.com) the log file, I'll have a look.

P2A Log files are located in: C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\P2A_200\Logs where <UserName> is your PC user name.
Portions of the path may be hidden by default, so be sure Windows Explorer has Show Hidden Items checked in the View tab.
A new one is created each time you start Pilot2ATC, and is closed when you shut it down. So if you take the most recent one after you have the error and after you shut down P2A, you should have the correct one.

Hi Dave, and thanks for the quick reply.

Maybe it's my phrasing, then. I found the bit in the log where it never responded. It looks like it's throwing an error with the max altitude along route, which is funny because the flight plan validated and filed OK. Here's the interesting bit:

Are you running the latest version 2.6.1.0?  The prior version had an issue with elevation calculations that probably caused this error.  The newest version fixes it.

I wasn't at the time. I was running 2.6.0.0, but I just updated, so hopefully it won't happen again :)

Once again, I appreciate the outstanding support on this great product over the years (had it since 2.0.0.0, won't ever fly without it again!)

Glad you like the program.

If this happens with the new version, email me the full log file to admin@pilot2atc.com and I'll see if something is broken.

Thanks,

Dave

Happy to report that everything worked perfectly with the new version. Got my FL change approved, same route, just about same exact location! Thanks! :)
