i uninstalled the old version and re intsalled the new one, I'm still having the same problem. Any other ideas?

Yes, most likely as you've installed 'as-admin' you've 'locked' some registry and/or path to 'admin only' which prevents the Garmin trainer from working normally.

Here are a few past discussions about this. Can you please review the information and solutions there and report back?

I'm still experiencing issues with this. I've read and re-read these posts multiple times. If you could walk me through exactly what I need to do to unlock the registry that would be appreciated.

This details information about expected file locations and registry keys/values you'd have to cross check to spot which is not at the correct place and/or is wrongly setup.
