August 24, 200619 yr I currently own AS6, GE Pro, UT Can/AK, UT USA, Lifetime Galaxy FSGenesis, Aerosoft Beaver, and MAAM SIM B25. I would like to gratiously request that these and any other developers that may be considering giving an upgrade discount for FSX to anyone who has their products for FS9, please give an adequate time period to make their decision. The optimal time would be up to 1 year after FSX is released.I am having a few issues with the FSX demo, and I am not sure at this point whether I will be buying FSX as soon as it is released. I have a fairly decent rig, but my video card is a little on the weak side. If I do decide On FSX, I will at least need a new Video card, which is very costly. To have to upgrade all of my payware at the same time would also be very costly. I originally bought everything over a 3 year period. It would be nice to have the option to upgrade all of my payware at the discounted rates further down the road, and in a timely fashion if I do decide to go with FSX.Thank you all for making FS9 a great experience. Without your products, I would have stopped flying long ago!Bill
August 25, 200619 yr Well to be fair, I'm sure most developers will base any extra cost or not on how much work is involved in bringing their product up to FSX standards. You have 2 option, make an addon work inside FSX with no issues and make an addon work while having all the new extras that FSX brings. Personally, I want a fully FSX designed addon, not anpatch to make it work. Now we can get ready for all those that are going to whine that their upgrades should be free.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/ambanner.jpg Best, Michael KDFW

August 25, 200619 yr Mesh should be a drop in- unless there is higher res mesh outhtere. Landclass, hopefully the same. The BGL structure (From what I've heard) still supports evertyhing that FS9 does.I'm looking forward to the extensions that MS is making for FSX. NOf if they'll only get the lighting away from 2 sources and allow multiple 'real' light sources.Dynamic lighting is a big deal to me. I've got more real world night time than day :)

I remember that there was some investigation going on into HDR lighting techniques, but that was very early on, and nothing's been mentioned about it since. I really hope that HDR is able to make it into the final product. The sound has been so much improved, it would take the cake if the lighting would match.-Ivan
