December 22, 20187 yr You set the heading with the HSI Heading Selector (Flight Manual Part II, page 96). For the autopilot to fly the heading, you flip the HDG SEL switch on the autopilot panel (glareshield) and engage the autopilot with the AIL and ELEV switches (Flight Manual Part II, page 55).
