August 22, 200619 yr That's been the main issue prevent us from doing it--it would have to be customized for every aircraft. Still, we look at it every version to see if it's feasible.
August 22, 200619 yr The problem is that ice adds a lot more then just weight. Here is a good basic article about some of the effects of icing.http://www.muk.uni-hannover.de/forschung/h...hung/adwice.htm Chris Miller
August 22, 200619 yr Yep, I am aware of it. Indeed the theoretical core of the MSFS flightsim accounted for it under the various forms (drag, weight, etc...) both over the airframe and on the engines, prop, etc..., but I think those variables never got into their places in the AIR file...
August 22, 200619 yr BTW:Reading this interesting paper, where we can find most of the details about the core F/E/S models in MSFS and CFShttp://download.microsoft.com/download/1/7...h_Zyskowski.pdfwe can easily find icing effects being considered under various sections.I really don't know how many are indeed implemented in the FM cycle.Maybe Tdragger is willing to give some insight (???)
