PBR-enabled addons in P3Dv4.4

Recommended Posts

Just one question, because I´m probably a bit confused: Do we need to install BOTH Client and Content components of P3D to do the upgrade to P3Dv4.4 to allow all PBR-related add-ons to show properly in P3Dv4.4, or just the Client would be enough?.

Please take into account I´m not talking about stock or default P3Dv4.4 textures, but about third-party add-ons (like the MaddogX, for instance).

Cheers, Ed

@edpatinoPer the Development team at Leonardo they require both to be installed to view PBR correctly in their aircraft.  My understanding is that the SDK is included with the Content which third party developers use.  The Client only is for LM stock items that don't require the SDK.

Thanks for your answer. That´s exactly what I´ve understood right from the beginning.

But, at the same time there´s the recommendation from the beta team for Leonardo´s MaddogX, that in some way is contradictory to the above and keeps things interesting:

I´ve always been a bit reluctant to upgrade both Client and Content (and have never done a Scenery component upgrade myself), unless it´s absolutely necessary.

I did a full upgrade of P3D and didn't have any major issues. Go for it. The PBR textures in the Leonardo stuff is really pretty.

I can't quantify how much, but I swear the new version performs better.

Come to think of it: I did have one major issue. All my scenery was blurry, outside of the payware airports. I use Orbx. What I found was using Process Lasso or any Affinity Mask setting was the cause. I have no understanding of why this is, but it was causing my blurries.
