Aircraft disappearing on takeoff/no landing aircraft

Recommended Posts

Aircraft are lining up for takeoff at e.g. Heathrow but disappear shortly afterwards. Also, I have no landing aircraft whatsoever.

Everything aloft seems to be absent, either upon takeoff or landing. Something wrong with my settings?

Your settings are OK.  Is RealTraffic ok? Are their setting as neeeded?

Your log is too short to see  how many live aircraft you get I've just checked out Heathrow myself and I got 85 live aircraft within 40nm. One stream of landing aircraft as you can see in this screenshot

The settings of RealTraffic are OK. I am only getting 41 aircraft within 40nm of Heathrow.

Still no landing aircraft!

Maybe they are afraid of an F-22 at Heathrow? 😉

Could you switch on Log livery matching and post a log of a session of say 10 minutes?

Your RT settings and your log looks fine, except that you do not get much traffic from RT. Here a screenshot of my RealTraffic at Heathrow, 2 minutes ago:

Traffic in area 192, while you have only 51 ... ??

EDIT: maybe you should try to re-install RT...

This all seems terribly bizarre. I am only getting 49 aircraft in that vicinity. Assuming that everyone effectively uses the same server for accessing live traffic this does seem wholly implausible.

It is almost as if something is being blocked at my end.

P.S. I have just reinstalled RT and same result.

Very strange indeed. You better report this to the developer of RealTraffic.

I know it should not make any difference, but it is the only difference I see with my setup. Could you try again with a 737 or Beach Baron as user aircraft?

I have just tried a complete uninstall and reinstall of RT and this time tidied up the installation files before reinstalling, also exempted RT from antivirus scanning etc and this time everything works. I now have about 230 aircraft within range in RT and aircraft are no longer disappearing on takeoff and all landing aircraft are visible and operating.

So, a bit of a mystery indeed and probably no need to report to the developer. Thanks all the same for checking things over and suggesting various actions: the clean reinstall seemed to fix it in the end!
