FSX Dilemma

Featured Replies

hi Fellowsimmers,I tested the FSXdemo, but i am not convinced at all...Some parts are nice/good and some not!I think i keep FS9 running as long FSX doesn't show better things...ByeBert

I am very inclined to wait til Vista/DX10 comes along. With all the addons I have going flawlessly now, it's kinda hard to get behind moving over to FSX with what I've seen so far. I'm sure it will be a no-brainer when Vista/DX10 comes out, and when . . . I have the upgraded hardware to run it well. Who knows if I can remain patient. I guess that will in part depend on the comments posted by new FSX users.Noel

Ya know, I've seen a lot of people say they're going to wait to buy FSX until Vista/DX10 comes out. I can see waiting to upgrade your rig but why wait on the software if your current rig can run it? Wouldn't you like to be getting to know it for a few extra months? Am I just insane about this???

I think the vast majority of us here are with you on this, Mike. i.e. You're not insane :)James

You may be just insane about that TD!Beyond that, as I say I may not have the patience to hold off as I am an avid supporter of software development for flight sims and sometimes buy stuff just to keep the show going. With that said, I also have a paucity of free hard drive space, so that is having an influence on me as well. I also don't have the benefit of seeing FSX personally, I've only seen screen shots, so who knows I may be enthralled by the improvements. I am still using good old Win2K Pro and alas, the demo won't run on it apparently.Noel

Not Insane. If you have a gaming rig that can run FSX then theres no point in waiting.

Mike, you're not insane - probably! Anyway, I think the demo is excellent apart from the obvious rough edges. I'll definitely be buying FSX as soon as it reaches these shores (the UK). Best regards and many thanks, Chris

<Absolutely YES... assuming the new copy protection scheme will accommodate subsequent hardware upgrades. :-)

Surely it will?
